1. The agreement

These terms are between you and the team that operates Ank, reachable at support@ankapp.in. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to bind that school.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.

2. Who may use Ank

Ank is for teachers and schools. To hold an account you must be at least 18 years old and be a teacher, examiner or member of school staff.

You must have the authority to upload the student work you upload — from your school, and from parents or guardians where that is required. You are responsible for holding that authority; we cannot check it for you.

3. Your account

Keep your password to yourself and do not share your account. Your account gives access to your students’ scripts, so treat it the way you would treat the physical scripts. Tell us promptly at support@ankapp.in if you think someone else has got into it.

You are responsible for what happens under your account.

4. AI-assisted marking

Ank suggests. You decide.

Marks produced by Ank are proposals, generated by AI from the question paper you supplied and the pages you photographed. They are shown to you with the reasoning behind them so that you can judge them. Nothing becomes a result until you approve it, and the mark Ank records is the one you approved.

Because of that:

5. Your content

Question papers, answer sheets, student details and anything else you put into Ank remain yours, or your school’s. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display that content back to you — including sending it to our AI processing provider to produce the extraction and the proposed marks. That licence exists only to run the service for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your students’ scripts to advertise to anyone, and we do not sell them.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Ank to:

7. Beta status

Ank is in private beta. The service is provided as is. Features may change or be removed, the service may be unavailable at times, and we do not offer an uptime guarantee during the beta period.

Keep your original answer scripts. Do not treat Ank as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

8. Fees

Ank is free for teachers in the private beta. If we introduce charges, we will give you notice in the app beforehand and you will be able to decline and stop using the service. You will never be charged without agreeing to a price first.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, and given that the service is provided free during the beta, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data where you hold the original scripts, or for any academic consequence of a mark you approved. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which during the beta is nothing.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Ank and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to support@ankapp.in. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or withdraw the beta, and we will give reasonable notice where we can so that you can export or retrieve what you need.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.

12. Contact
